Anna Kendrick has revealed that filming the first movie in the “Twilight” series felt really miserable because of the extreme weather conditions. Kendrick played the role of Jessica Stanley in the movie.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the 34-year-old actress admitted that shooting the first film in Oregon was like surviving a “hostage situation” and left her feeling “cold” and “miserable.” The situation got worse for the star that her shoes were completely “soaked” because of the weather.

Kendrick further stated that her co-stars and all the crew members were really great, but she wanted to “murder” everyone because of the unsuitable conditions.

“The first movie we filmed in Portland, Oregon, and I just remember being so cold and miserable. And I just remember my Converse being completely soaked through and feeling like, 'You know, this is a really great group of people and I'm sure that we would be friends at a different time, but I want to murder everyone,’” Kendrick jokingly said.

Later in the interview, the “Pitch Perfect” star also confessed that being part of such a film was really amazing and the bond she shares with the rest of the cast is something that she would always cherish.

The first movie in the highly successful franchise came out in 2008. Based on the novel written by Stephenie Meyer, the film focuses on the development of a romantic relationship between a human teenager Bella Swan (played by Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (played by Robert Pattinson).

The movie turned out to be a huge financial success. “Twilight” made $70.6 million in its opening weekend and surpassed all the expectations. At the time, its opening weekend gross was the highest ever for a female-directed film, surpassing that of “Deep Impact” (1998).

The movie accumulated $407 million globally on a production budget of just $37 million.

However, the film received mixed reviews from the critics and currently holds a score of 49% on review site Rotten Tomatoes.

Following the film's success, “New Moon” and “Eclipse,” the next two novels in the series, were produced as films the following year. The final part, “Breaking Dawn,” came out in two parts and ended the “Twilight” saga.

As a whole, the franchise made over $3.346 billion worldwide on a production budget of $401 million.
