“Designated Survivor,” which stars Kiefer Sutherland as President Tom Kirkman, will not air on ABC tonight.

Instead of the drama series, which normally airs on Wednesdays on the network at 10 p.m. EST, ABC will be broadcasting the 51st Annual CMA Awards, starting at 8 p.m. until 11:35 p.m. The award ceremony will be followed by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

The CMA Awards will feature Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood as hosts for the tenth year in a row. Besides top-notch hosts, viewers will also get to see one-of-a-kind musical performances during the show, including collaborations from Kelsea Ballerini & Reba McEntire, Dierks Bentley & Rascal Flatts, Maren Morris & Niall Horan and Brad Paisley & Kane Brown.

As this event is a one-night-only show, “Designated Survivor” will be back next week with the premiere of its next new episode, titled “Family Ties,” on Nov. 15.

While fans will have to wait a little while longer to see Season 2, episode 7 of the ABC drama, they can expect to see the fictional first family fight a personal battle when it does air.

“When a Turkish activist ignites protests in the U.S., Turkey’s president demands his extradition while the first family unknowingly finds themselves in the center of a battle that could threaten Leo’s future,” the official synopsis for episode 7 of the second season teases.

This episode was written by Pierluigi D. Cothran and directed by Milan Cheylov.

To make sure you’re ready to go when the new episode airs in a week, here’s a little refresher on what the lastest installment, episode 6, titled “Two Ships,” was about.

“When a U.S. Navy ship containing secret surveillance becomes stranded in enemy waters, President Kirkman must negotiate the crew and ship’s release,” Season 2, episode 6’s summary states. “If captured, the technology on board would create a massive threat to national security. Meanwhile. Chief of Staff Emily Rhodes reconnects with someone from her childhood.”

This last episode was written by Jessica Grasl and directed by Leslie Libman.

“Designated Survivor” Season 2 episode 7 airs on ABC on Nov. 15 at 10 p.m. EST.
