Kate Middleton’s mom, Carole Middleton, once expressed her growing concern regarding the Duchess of Cambridge’s relationship with Prince William.

In an article for Daily Mail, royal author Katie Nicholl said that Carole was also worried about her daughter’s future at that time because she thinks that the royal’s life is on a standstill.

“She says Kate can't get on and do normal things because of the public interest in her. She's of the opinion privately that William should make an honest woman out of her so that she isn't left waiting in limbo,” Nicholl said.

The royal author’s comments reportedly came after news broke out that Prince William was photographed at the Middleton residence where he had spent the night. The Duke of Cambridge forged a close relationship with the Middletons since he dated the Duchess of Cambridge for an entire decade.

NBC’s royal correspondent Ashley Pearson said in the documentary “William and Harry: Brothers In Arms” that Prince William went as far as lying on the couch with his head resting on Carole’s lap. There were also times wherein Prince William spoke with his then-girlfriend’s dad for hours after dinner.

“Talking to a royal insider several years ago, she told me one of the reasons William fell in love with Kate Middleton from the very beginning was because of her family and her close relationship with her siblings and parents,” Pearson said.

However, Prince William and Middleton’s lengthy relationship wasn’t always a happy and peaceful one. After all, the experienced two breakups as a couple. The Royals’ second split was reportedly caused by the increasing pressure from the public for Prince William to propose to Middleton.

Instead of announcing their engagement, the couple revealed that they have called it quits. But their split didn’t last very long. Just a couple of months after their breakup, Prince William and Middleton were once again spotted in public together.

The royal couple tied the knot on April 29, 2011, and they were blessed with three adorable children, namely, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
