“Blindspot” cast member Jaimie Alexander, who plays the role of Jane Doe, will not be attending the 2017 Comic-Con in San Diego. NBC

The cast and creator of “Blindspot” will not be present at this month’s Comic-Con in San Diego.

According to TV Line, this is the first time that “Blindspot” will be skipping the huge event ever since the series premiered on NBC in 2015. Despite not revealing the actual reason behind their decision, cast members Jaimie Alexander, Sullivan Stapleton and the rest are currently filming the upcoming Season 3 episodes in Venice, Italy, so this could be one major reason for their absence.

Alexander posted a selfie with Stapleton last week via her Twitter account, which showed the co-stars walking along the streets of Venice with huge smiles on their faces.

Meanwhile, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” will also not be attending the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con. Executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen herself confirmed the news via her Twitter account. According to the exec, they are currently working hard to give fans the best Season 5 they deserve. Tancharoen also confirmed that they will be present at the 2017 New York Comic-Con in October.

But despite “Blindspot” and “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’s” absences, there are still plenty of shows and actors to watch out for at the four-day event starting July 20. The cast of “Big Bang Theory,” namely, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik and Kevin Sussman, will all be present for the panel discussion and Q&A on July 21 at 10 a.m. Unfortunately, Jim Parsons, Melissa Rauch and Simon Helberg have not yet confirmed their attendance.

The cast of “Riverdale” will also be hosting a panel discussion on July 22. KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, Ashleigh Murray, Casey Cott, Haley Law, Asha Bromfield and executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa will be present to respond to fan questions.

“Arrow,” “The Originals,” “The 100,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Black Lightning,” “ and “iZombie” cast members and execs will be present at the event as well. The four-day event will close with a special Q&A and panel from the cast and crew of “Supernatural.” The series is the only one scheduled on the said day.
