Good news, “Will & Grace” fans! NBC has finally confirmed the revival of the series for the 2017-18 broadcast season. During the 2017 Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour on Wednesday, the network announced the reunion of original cast members Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally for a 10-episode season of the series’ revival.

NBC’s confirmation for the “Will & Grace” revival came less than a month after Leslie Jordan hinted at the reunion, The Hollywood Reporter noted. Aside from the cast, the reboot will also bring back the original series creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, as well as director James Burrows, who directed every episode of the series during its initial eight-year run.

“We’re thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and most defining comedies in NBC history is coming back,” NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said, People quoted. “This groundbreaking series for everything from gay rights to social and political commentary — all disguised as a high-speed train of witty pop culture — is coming back where it belongs.”

Despite the 11-year hiatus, NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke revealed the original cast of “Will & Grace” were also thrilled about the revival and are ready to get back into production. He also stressed that the series, which originally aired from 1998-2006, is “one of the best” when it comes to the comedy genre of the television shows.

The upcoming 9th season of “Will & Grace” reportedly came after the surprise election-themed mini-episode that was released on Sept. 26, which raked in almost 7 million views, Deadline revealed. Moreover, the 10-episode season will focus more on what the main characters — Will, Grace, Jack and Karen — are “thinking about in 2017,” Mutchnick stated.

Meanwhile, the upcoming “Will & Grace” revival will be produced and distributed by Universal Television. According to E! News, the official premiere date and production timeline are yet to be announced.
