Time is winding down and soon the world will welcome the arrival of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton’s second child. But while everyone is obsessing over the gender of the soon-to-be-born prince or princess, we’re preoccupied wondering what Middleton will be donning when she steps foot onto the steps of St. Mary’s Hospital in London.

When Middleton gave birth to her first son Prince George on July 22, 2013, at the hospital’s Lindo Wing, she paid tribute to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana through fashion. The Duchess of Cambridge sported a dress similar to the one Prince William’s mother wore when she exited the hospital after giving birth to the future king of Britain in 1982.

The Princess of Wales made her first public appearance as a mother when she left the Lindo Wing wearing a flowing, green polka-dot dress. Middleton decided to channel Princes Diana’s style during her maternal debut by slipping on a pale blue polka-dot, knee-length Jenny Packham dress. So, this begs the question: Will Middleton honor the mother of her husband a second time with the birth of her second born?

After Princess Diana and Prince Charles welcomed the birth of their son, Prince Harry in 1984, the parents showed off their swaddled boy to the world on the steps of Lindo Wing. This time, The Princess of Wales decided to wear a long red jacket with matching kitten heels. Royal baby watchers will have to keep their eyes peeled for similar attire.

This wouldn’t be the first time that the public noticed similarities between the two regal beauties. The royal pair each took a trip to the United States with their husbands a few years after their marriages. The Princess of Wales married Prince Charles on July 29, 1981 before visiting the states on business on Nov. 9, 1985, while Kate Middleton wedded Prince Williams on April 29, 2011, prior to packing their bags for America on Dec. 7, 2014. Both royal couples left their children at home and also met A-list celebrities on their quick trip to the states.
