George RR Martin will be hosting a screening of “Forbidden Planet” at the Irish Film Institute this month, but he will not be answering any questions about “Winds of Winter.” The celebrity author will talk about how such films have influenced his own writing at the event and answer a few questions from the audience.

A team that works for Martin, who the author fondly refers to as his “minions,” made the announcement on the official blog of the writer. The event has been organized by the Irish Film Institute in association with Dublin 2019: An Irish WorldCon.

After the screening of the 1956 sci-fi classic, Martin will be on stage with Maura McHugh to talk about how such films have influenced his own writing. Although he is mostly recognized for his “A Song of Ice and Fire” series, Martin has also written many books in the sci-fi genre.

According to the official Irish Film Institute website, Martin will only talk about his writing in general. The audience will not get any answers about the expected release date of “Winds of Winter.” The author will also not talk about the just concluded “Game of Thrones” TV series, which many of the fans were disappointed with.

The screening of “Forbidden Planet” will happen on Saturday on Aug 17th. Details about the screening have been shared on the Facebook page of Irish Film Institute, and tickets are available on the institute’s website. A maximum of two tickets are allowed per transaction, and there are limited tickets.

As far as “Game of Thrones” is concerned, Martin previously congratulated the producers of the show for their Primetime Emmy Awards nomination. He did not talk about the backlash by the fans for the last season, but hoped that the upcoming shows based on Westeros will carry the torch forward.

Martin is yet to announce an exact release date of “Winds of Winter.” The author has said that he will announce the completion of the book on his blog.
