Chicken wing chain Wingstop announced on Tuesday that it has released its own version of the chicken sandwich.

The move comes amid a chicken sandwich craze, which had inspired many fast-food restaurants to jump on the bandwagon and create their own version of the consumer favorite. Although Wingstop is questioning consumers' loyalty to the other chicken sandwich producers.

"Wingstop is questioning consumers' current chicken sandwich tastes and calling for a breakup. In a world of boring breaded sandwiches with only plain or spicy to choose from," a Wing Stop press release said.

Wingstop is also encouraging people to "write a break up letter" to their other favorite chicken sandwich for a chance to win a free Wingstop sandwich. The break up letter can be entered at "ChickenSandwichSplit.com" and there will be 100,000 winners.

The Wingstop Chicken Sandwich is different than the others because it has the option to also come covered in 12 of its sauce flavors including Lemon Pepper punch, OG Hot kick, Mango Habanero heat, Hickory Smoked BBQ and more.

Wingstop believes the addition to its menu will attract a whole new loyal consumer base.

"The nationwide launch of the Wingstop Chicken Sandwich is an opportunity to bring new guests to the brand by proving our position as The Flavor Experts and reward our existing fanbase by putting menu innovation on center stage," said Stacy Peterson, Wingstop's Chief Revenue and Technology Officer in the release.
