KEY POINTS

  • Melvin Gordon's social media actions raise speculations of him wanting a trade
  • The Broncos are wary of Gordon because he is unable to properly take care of the football
  • Gordon may eventually be traded to another team if the Broncos' woes continue

The Denver Broncos are struggling, and frustration is unsurprisingly boiling over.

One player who appears to be lost in all of the craziness is running back Melvin Gordon.

The 29-year-old NFL player had three carries for eight yards in the first quarter of their 19-16 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday, October 17.

He was taken out of the game not long after, something he says he does not understand.

"To tell you exactly what happened? I can't tell you. Because I don't know," Gordon said to Bridget Condon of the NFL Network after the game. "Na, no one mentioned anything to me."

The two-time Pro Bowler feels that he could have done more to help the Broncos win that game against the Chargers.

Unfortunately, he never got that opportunity. No one from the coaching staff also bothered to tell him why he was benched.

"Just waiting for my number to get called so I can go out there and help my teammates. It was a close game, I felt like I could've made a difference, but apparently not," the 29-year-old running back added.

Regardless, it seems that all is not well for Gordon and the Broncos.

This was made even more dubious when the running back started to like tweets suggesting that he be traded to the Los Angeles Rams for Cam Akers.

Gordon started liking tweets from people on the proposed trade, USA Today reported.

Looking back, Gordon also left a press conference early in Week 4 where they lost to the Las Vegas Raiders.

One possible reason for the move and lack of confidence is that Gordon has been careless with the ball.

When Javonte Williams tore his ACL, Gordon was tasked to take over.

However, he has not performed up to par with Broncos' fans holding big expectations, especially with the addition of Russell Wilson.

It also remains to be seen if there is any take for the services of the 15th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He is in an ugly situation, made even worse by the fact that the Broncos may not be able to turn their season around.
