A Louisiana woman is facing charges for allegedly hiring four teens in a plot to kill her ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend.

Myka Tyson, 20, of Covington, has been accused of hiring teenagers to kill a man in Lacombe earlier this month after she found out that he was in a relationship with her ex-girlfriend. However, the mission failed after one of the teens decided to fire on the victim's house instead of following their alleged plan.

Police arrested Tyson last week on charges of aggravated criminal damage to property, one count each of possession of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. She was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail. Her charges were upgraded to include solicitation of murder on June 21, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office said in a news release Wednesday.

According to investigators, Tyson drove the four teens to the victim's residence on June 5 with the intention to carry out the murder.

Delester Magee, 19, one of the teenagers in Tyson's car, decided at the last moment not to carry on with their initial plan. Instead, he fired multiple rounds on the man's house, police said.

"Thankfully no one was hurt during this crime, but this could have very easily not been the case," Sheriff Randy Smith said. "Gunfire is not the answer, and we will continue to take crimes like this very seriously in St. Tammany Parish."

Magee was arrested on June 15 on charges of aggravated criminal damage to property, contributing to the delinquency of juveniles and criminal conspiracy. He was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail, reported WWLTV.

Two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old were also arrested in connection with the incident. They were charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated criminal damage but were released via custodial agreement.

Earlier this month, a woman was arrested in Pennsylvania for reportedly trying to hire a hitman to kill her husband and offering to pay $4,000 in weekly installments of $100. Claudia Carrion was charged with criminal solicitation to commit homicide after she allegedly agreed to pay the amount to an undercover city police detective posing as a hitman.
