A woman, who was suffering from abnormal bleeding and abdominal pain, was shocked when her gynecologist told her she was growing teeth and hair inside her uterus.

The woman's TikTok post, sharing her story, received over 1.7 million views and 300,000 likes. In the video, the woman, who goes by the TikTok handle @sandwitchbread, revealed her mysterious medical condition. She explained two years after giving birth to her son, she began developing strange symptoms.

When her doctor suggested she undergo an ultrasound scan, the young mom got nervous, as she feared she might have cancer or be pregnant again. However, to her shock, the doctor said her body had been growing teeth and hair inside her uterus.

Doctors termed the condition a dermoid cyst, which is a growth of normal tissue enclosed in a pocket of cells. Occasionally, this growth can go on to develop bone, nerves, skin and sweat glands. But in the woman's case it grew teeth and hair. She also mentioned her tissue ended up developing into two dermoid cysts -- one “chicken egg-sized” and the another “pea-sized.”

“I’m gonna show you guys what it looks like… Viewer discretion advised!” the woman said in the video.

Explaining how this happened, her doctor said when her son was still in utero, traces of fetal tissue separated from the developing fetus, which went on to become a dermoid cyst, Yahoo News reported.

“So, for two years now, I’ve had particles of my son… growing in my uterus,” @sandwitchbread said in shock to the camera.

She warned her viewers before putting up a photo of a dermoid cyst. Some users were horrified after seeing the photo.

“You advised discretion for the photo and I THOUGHT I understood. But let me tell you, I WAS NOT READY FOR THAT PHOTO,” one user joked. Another said: “This was the most disturbing TikTok I’ve ever seen,” one viewer wrote.

“Whoaaaa, that’s wild. I’ve never even heard of this. You learn something new every day,” a third said.

Many viewers of the video also thanked her for advocating for women’s health and sharing her experience with the world.
