The U.S. Women's World Cup 2011 team will be vying for the soccer world cup title for the first time since it last won in 1999.

Three magnificent goals from players Lauren Cheney, Abby Wambach and Alex Morgan solidified the chances for the U.S. women's world cup team, leading to a 3-1 defeat over France.

The U.S. team wasted no time in getting a score on the board, as Cheney made sure of that in the ninth minute. France's equalizer in the 55th minute didn't deter the U.S team, which then added another goal to the score board in the 79th minute when Abby Wambach scored a header.

France realized they would soon be returning home when World Cup rookie Alex Morgan's goal in the 82nd pushed the U.S team two goals ahead. The Americans will play the winner of the Sweden versus Japan match that's already underway.

The World Cup final will happen at 2:45 p.m. EST on Sunday in Frankfurt.
