Les Twins won over Keone & Mari despite Laurent Bourgeois’ injury in the divisional finals in “World of Dance” Season 1. NBC

“World of Dance” Season 1 recently crowned Les Twins as the first-ever winners of the hit NBC reality TV competition.

But even though they have a lot of supporters from all over the world, the Parisian brothers are aware of the fact that there were critics who claim they shouldn’t have won. After all, Laurent and Larry Nicholas Bourgeois have already competed in a slew of different shows, and they have also toured the world with Beyoncé.

While speaking with Hollywood Life, the twins reminded everyone that several contestants who were booted off in “World of Dance” were also renowned in their own right. For instance, Keone & Mari, who lost to Les Twins in the divisional finals, previously starred in Justin Bieber’s official music video for “Love Yourself.”

“But the thing is, we kept it fresh and trying to make sure that the judges saw the new faces of Les Twins and we’re not going to sleep on our name. And, we said this from the first interview in the first episode, ‘We’re not going to let them think we’re here to play games. This is our name and we’re not going to let it go,’” they said.

Meanwhile, the Bourgeois brothers initially thought that they will no longer make it until the end when Laurent met an accident during the Snapchat video filming for “World of Dance.” But in the divisional finals, the brothers decided to incorporate the injury into their routine. Laurent sat on a wheelchair throughout the most part of his performance, but still managed to score higher than Keone & Mari.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Larry said that he had a hard time seeing his brother sitting on the wheelchair. “I had the hardest week ever,” he added.

Now that “World of Dance” is over, and the brothers have $1 million, the Les Twins are thinking of starting their own clothing line. They also want to put up a restaurant. But before any of these plans materialize, Laurent said that they are more focused on music and performing at the moment. In fact, earlier this week, they released “What Happened” on iTunes.

“World of Dance” Season 2 will return to NBC next year.
