World Vegan Day is celebrated on Nov 1 every year. It was first celebrated in 1994 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the U.K. Vegan Society.

Veganism refers to refraining oneself from using anything that may have been made from animals, including meat, eggs and milk. Strict vegans also avoid products that use animal labor such as those tested on animals. They also refrain themselves from visiting zoos and aquariums or supporting activities such as animal racing or fighting.
