Worst Dressed At 2019 Golden Globes: Caitriona Balfe, Debra Messing And More

While the 2019 Golden Globes was a night to celebrate achievements in film and television, it was also a great time for celebrities to pull out their best outfits and strut down the red carpet at The Beverly Hilton. Unfortunately, a few of those stars ended up on the worst dressed list.

“Outlander” star Caitriona Balfe seemingly missed the mark when she hit the carpet in a Moschino gown featuring red velvet. While it appears the actress was going for an elegant look, Balfe’s outfit appeared to be more appropriate for a middle school dance rather than the Golden Globes.

Debra Messing seemed to continue to support the Time’s Up movement by hitting the carpet in a black ensemble. While she had good intentions, her Pamella Roland dress was too flashy and aesthetically distracting to make a positive impression on the red carpet.

Just because she lost on the red carpet doesn’t mean Messing didn’t enjoy her night. The actress admitted her show, “Will & Grace” has never won a Golden Globe, but she attended the award show to have a good time. “We’ve never won. So we drink,” she told People.

“Because at the Golden Globes that’s what you do, you drink. … I get to sit there and relax,” the star explained.

While Messing was focused on drinks, Anne Hathaway seemed like she was working on helping animal print make a comeback. Hathaway’s fashion on the red carpet look appeared to be a bit ahead of its time with her Elie Saab leopard gown. What could have been a fierce look on the Ocean’s 8 actress was more of a disappointing let down compared to her other notable style moments.
