Wrestlemania 35 is a day away, but it seems that fireworks have already started. The only problem is that this one, which happened during the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony, was not part of the script.

Multiple media outlets reported that Bret "The Hitman" Hart was giving his speech during the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony in New York on Saturday night when a fan jumped over the barricade to attack the WWE legend.

Hart, who was with his niece and daughter of the late Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart at the time, was taken down by the assailant. The whole scene created a frenzy in the ring with several WWE stars rushing to the ring to save the 61-year-old legend. Among those who came to Hart's aid include Shane McMahon, Xavier Woods, Tyson Kidd and Curtis Axel, CBS Sports reported.

The WWE network feed was cut abruptly during the attack where even Ronda Rousey and hubby Travis Browne appeared to have gotten involved. One WWE star, Dash Wilder was even shown getting in a punch on the assailant in a ruckus that thankfully resulted in no serious injuries to the WWE Hall of Famer.

When order was restored, Hart was able to recompose himself and finish his speech.

Hart was being inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame together with Jim Neidhart. Together, they were known as the Hart Foundation, one of the successful WWE tag teams ever produced. The Hitman is the latest WWE star to become a two-time WWE Hall of Famer. The others are Shawn Michaels, Booker T, and Ric Flair, USA Today reported.

Natalya delivered the speech her father would have given while Bret Hart recounted tales of the Hart Foundation as well as some misadventures with another WWE great King Kong Bundy.

“When I cross over,” said Bret Hart as he paid homage to his friend Jim Neidhart. “I pray God will lead me straight to The Anvil.”

Other stars present during the WWE Hall of Fame ceremonies include Torrie Wilson and Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake. Also feted were the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame Legacy inductees such as Bruiser Brody, Luna Vachon, Buddy Rose, S.D. Jones, Wahoo McDaniel, Professor Toru Tanaka, Jim Barnett, Primo Carnera, Hisashi Shinma, and Joe Cohen, WWE.com reported.
