Arguably the most electrifying WWE superstar of all time The Rock, admitted that he is unlikely to make a comeback in wrestling.

WWE icon turned Hollywood superstar Dwayne Johnson also known as “The Rock” has recently appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan and shared some thoughts about his pre wrestling career.

According to Johnson, he is grateful for having a really wonderful acting career but nothing compares to the intensity and excitement the WWE has given him. But unfortunately, he is “quietly retired” from pro wrestling at this point in time.

"I mean, no. I quietly retired from wrestling because I was lucky enough to have just a really wonderful career and accomplish what I wanted to accomplish, but there's nothing like a live crowd, a live audience, a live microphone as you both know . And I actually had my very first match ever in the WWE, was in Madison Square Garden and it was a big pay-per-view, and it was funny because I credit my time and my journey in pro wrestling to getting me to where I am at today," Johnson said.

Johnson even revealed that he grew up in wrestling as his whole family used to do wrestling back in the day.

"Plus, I grew up in wrestling. For a lot of you guys that don't know, my grandfather wrestled, my dad as well, my whole family, Johnson revealed.

Johnson is one of the WWE superstars who were rumored to make a special appearance in WWE SmackDown Live’s debut on FOX in October. However, according to talkSPORT, the 47-year-old actor has been “too busy” with with premiers for his new “Hobbs and Shaw” movie.

WWE has been reportedly reaching out to Johnson and are still hoping that “The Rock” will return to SmackDown.

The ticket sales for the said WWE event to be held at Madison Square Garden are currently down and lower than expected and it is no doubt that having “The Rock” in it will definitely put up significant numbers.

The last time Johnson stepped foot inside a WWE ring for a match was at WrestleMania 32 when he had an impromptu match vs Erick Rowan.

His last match before that was at WrestleMania 29 and it was the culmination of his multi-year feud with John Cena, to whom he lost the WWE Championship that night to. Cena, along with Johnson, is also rumored to return to WWE in October
