  • Roman Reigns is set to defend his Universal Title at Elimination Chamber
  • He will take on Goldberg in Saudi Arabia
  • Reigns has won the Universal Championship twice

Roman Reigns is reportedly set to create an incredible record that may never be broken in WWE.

The Universal Champion will try to defend his title against WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg at the Elimination Chamber 2022, which is due to take place later this month in Saudi Arabia.

Reigns and Goldberg were previously scheduled to face off against each other at WrestleMania 36 last year but The Tribal Chief backed out of the fight due to concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

When Reigns takes on Goldberg this Sunday at Jeddah Superdome, the former will achieve a unique record that's unlikely to ever be beaten – Reigns will become the first person to face every former Universal Champion in a single reign, according to WrestleTalk.

WWE's Universal title was created on July 25, 2016. The title was exclusively for WWE's brand RAW back then. Over the last six years, eight different men have won the Universal title. Reigns has won the coveted belt twice, with the latest one in 2020.

The Tribal Chief's second reign as the Universal Champion started at WWE Payback 2020, where he defeated Braun Strowman and The Fiend to win the belt. Reigns then was involved in a full-fledged feud with Kevin Owens, successfully defending the Universal title at TLC 2020 and Royal Rumble 2021.

Reigns once again defended his coveted belt in 2021 by beating Finn Balor at Extreme Rules. The 2015 Royal Rumble winner then edged out his arch-rival Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel in another successful title defense.

At the Royal Rumble 2022, even though Reigns lost to Seth Rollins, the result happened through disqualification, ensuring the former held on to his Universal title.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Goldberg has only one match remaining on his WWE contract, which apparently would end after the fight against Reigns in Saudi Arabia.

The upcoming event of Elimination Chamber will also see Bobby Lashley defend his WWE Championship against Lesnar.
