KEY POINTS

  • The Miz could cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase at WWE Elimination Chamber
  • "The Fiend" could interfere and target Randy Orton at WWE Elimination Chamber
  • Kofi Kingston could be a surprise entrant who could become WWE champion

Randy Orton will be one of several WWE stars challenging Drew McIntyre for his world title at WWE Elimination Chamber this coming weekend at the Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.

However, it appears the “Legend Killer” will need to keep his guard up considering he has a target on his back.

In December, Orton defeated Bray Wyatt, also known as “The Fiend,” at WWE TLC and that storyline is still active.

Alexa Bliss has been keeping the flame alive, but the most startling reveal may have happened in the Feb. 16 edition of WWE Raw.

As Randy Orton ranted about how he would overcome McIntyre, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Sheamus and Kofi Kingston, Bliss interrupted him with a shot of the Firefly Fun House door.

“Ashes to ashes, dust to dust,” Bilis quipped in that segment before blowing a handful of what appeared to be ashes. “He will be reborn."

Bliss was then shown sitting in the middle of a pentagram etched on the floor, looking up and appeared to be summoning someone. The floor rumbled and she ended it all with an uncontrollable laugh.

There is no telling when “The Fiend” will officially return although the best bet is at WWE Elimination Chamber this weekend.

Hence, the “Viper” will have to worry not only about other WWE stars out to try and win the WWE Championship of McIntyre. Wyatt could emerge at some point and seek payback for the WWE TLC incident.

Along with that comes the likelihood that Orton may not be successful in winning the title.

This is unless the WWE creative team shifts its focus to an Orton vs. Wyatt scenario that includes the belt. For now, that remains to be seen although unlikely.

Aside from Orton, the curious addition of Kofi Kingston raises some questions. Recall that The Miz opted to withdraw from the Elimination Chamber match since he could easily get his title shot because he holds the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Assuming that Kingston somehow wins the Elimination Chamber match, it could set up a good storyline for The Miz to cash in and snag the title at the upcoming pay-per-view.

Even if McIntyre remains champion, the ultimate opportunist could still cash in since “The Scottish Psychopath” is likely to be battered and worn out from the melee.
