Kofi Kingston had to live with the fact that he was unceremoniously robbed of a WWE title opportunity at WWE Fastlane. Seeing how odd it had been to have had the title taken away, it hardly surprised many that the drama behind it all was far from over. All that was revived during the March 12 edition of WWE SmackDown.

Kingston confronted WWE CEO Vince McMahon at one segment alongside his buddies Big E and Xavier Woods. McMahon felt that the 37-year-old lacked what it took to be a main-event performer, but the WWE top brass eventually changed his mind, with a catch, WWE.com reported.

Kingston, someone who has proven in the past that he can take on anyone and do well with a WWE title on his waist, simply wanted a chance to prove himself. And now, he will be getting that chance although it will not come easy.

After getting booted from WWE Fastlane, Kingston may finally get the chance to challenge Daniel Bryan for his WWE heavyweight title at Wrestlemania 35, but he needs to get past five wrestlers in next week's WWE Smackdown. It will be Gauntlet match and he will have to hurdle Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Cesaro, Sheamus and Rowan to get that coveted opportunity, Ringside News reported.

The odds seem to be stacked on Kingston, but he had a determined look on his face to prove his worth hints at welcoming the challenge and doing whatever it takes to get to the top. The WWE stars he will be facing are no pushovers. There is also the matter of his conditioning, seeing that the March 19 edition of WWE Smackdown will not be a walk in the park for him.

It remains to be seen as well if Big E or Woods will lend an assist. With Kingston seemingly on his way to rise in singles competition, the New Day may have their own run as well but for the WWE tag team titles.

At any rate, one can sense that Kingston will be able to hurdle all these obstacles and go to Wrestlemania 35. Looking ahead, he could even end up wresting the titles from Bryan. Should that happen, the push only means that the WWE will be giving Kingston the much-needed push and take his place among the top stars of the wrestling promotion.
