The shooting incident reportedly started because of a fight between two gangs of juveniles, with one of them then opening fire.

“‘This was not an active shooter. This was an isolated incident,” a spokesman for the Las Vegas police department said.

Local reports also stated that while the investigation was still underway, the officers found at least three victims who had suffered "apparent gunshot injuries" but were not life-threatening.

The suspects reportedly escaped from the spot. The Nevada Highway Patrol tweeted soon after the incident occurred, declaring that all of the off-ramps from the I-15 eastbound to Spring Mountain Road were closed due to police activity, and asked the civilians to avoid the area.
