Xiaomi has been aggressive in releasing regular updates for its Redmi smartphone lines. After launching the first phase of the huge MUI 11 update, the Chinese smartphone company has now started the second phase of its Android 10-based MIUI 11 update in China.

According to Gizmo China, the Redmi 5 and Redmi Note 5 are among the latest models to have received the latest MIUI V11.0.1 stable ROM update. However, those devices are still based on the Android 9 Pie operating system. Right now, it still unclear if the company has plans to bring Android 10 for those devices. The package size of the latest MIUI 11 update is 677M for the Redmi Note 5, while 591M for the Redmi 5.

The latest custom version of Xiaomi’s Android skin, the MIUI 11 update, will bring significant improvement design, visual aspects, and a number of new features onboard.

On installing the latest MIUI 11 update, Redmi 5 and Redmi Note 5 users will get new System-Wide Dark Mode, an improved Mi Calculator app, Dynamic Lock screen effects, new Steps tracker, a revamped Mi File Manager app, Short Video Mode, Wallpaper carousel, Ultra Power Save Mode, new quick replies, overhauled notification, new natural sounds and alarms, new style of animations, and new always-on notification display functionality.

There's also a new Earthquake alert, new icons for the UI, and new Kids Mode, which will provide a safe digital environment for kids by running only mobile apps that have whitelisted by their parents. Other features include a new Game Turbo for playing mobile games and a brand new Mi Doc View for a more productive and efficient workplace.

As mentioned earlier by Piunika Web, the update also improved touch controls, removed visual clutter and introduced a new comprehensive design optimized for full device display. The MIUI 11 update also brings the October security patch and increased system security.

In addition to that, Xiaomi is also adding three new updates in the next update, probably in the third phase of the MIUI 11 rollout. the third phase will most likely begin on November 13, according to a report by Times Now News.
