We finally know who will playing the role of Whitney Houston in the upcoming Lifetime biopic on the music icon.

Actress and model Yaya DaCosta will play the singer in the biopic, TVLine reports. The film, which is scheduled for release in 2015, will be directed by Angela Bassett and is tentatively titled “Whitney Houston.”

The film will be set in the 1980s and '90s and will follow the story of Houston’s rocky relationship with Bobby Brown. It will cover the pair’s beginning and ultimate breakdown. It be Bassett’s directorial debut and is being produced by The Sanitsky Company. The script will be written by Shem Bitterman.

DaCosta first became known during her run as a contestant on Season 3 of the reality show “America’s Next Top Model.” She came in second place behind winner Eva Marcille. Following her time on “ANTM,” DeCosta went on to launch a successful modeling and acting career. She recently appeared in Lee Daniel’s “The Butler,” “Take the Lead,” “Tron: Legacy” and has also made television appearances on shows like “Ugly Betty” and “All My Children.”

In June 2012, DeCosta married independent film producer and director Joshua Bee Alafia. The couple welcomed their first child last September, a son named Sankara.
