Young and the Restless
Billy (Jason Thompson) has a surprising reaction to Phyllis’ betrayal on the Oct. 5, 2018 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” CBS

He was ecstatic that she said she’d marry him when he got out of rehab for his gambling addiction. However, following Sharon’s shocking reveal at her wedding, Billy will find himself spiraling once again as he learns of Phyllis’ betrayal on the Friday, Oct. 5 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Everyone was stunned when Sharon (Sharon Case) stopped everything at her wedding to Nick (Joshua Morrow) to reveal that he and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) had slept together on the CBS soap—and no one was more shocked than Phyllis’ very recent fiancé, Billy (Jason Thompson). He had proposed to her only moments earlier and she had accepted, but now that relationship is very much on the line because of what she and Nick had done.

The fallout will continue to occur for Nick as he deals with Sharon’s reaction and the way she handled it, but the consequences may be much higher for Phyllis.

Billy will quickly end things between them because he won’t be able to trust that she is really by his side anymore, especially as he heads to rehab to get a hold on his gambling addiction once again. Since he hasn’t gone yet though, he still has the ability to make destructive decisions very much in his DNA—and he could seek out another one before he leaves Genoa City.

Prior to his gambling problem consuming him, it became something very real thanks to Summer (Hunter King) getting him back into it with a poker game. However, Summer also provided him with another major temptation—herself.

Summer made it no secret before that she wanted to be with Billy and seduce him, even if it was just so she could make Phyllis jealous. However, her attempt to get with Billy failed, and he revealed that while she was very attractive, he wouldn’t take a risk with her while he dated her mother. Now that his relationship with Phyllis is over, Billy could wind up making his most destructive decision yet, by sleeping with Summer.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
