He was just handed a major blow following his wife and daughter’s convictions for murder and conspiracy to cover up the crime. Now, Victor will be handed another shock as he learns that his granddaughter, Summer, intends to immediately marry Kyle on the Thursday, March 14 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

The Newmans just received an unexpected blow when it came to the trial against Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Sharon (Sharon Case), as the three women were found guilty on the CBS soap when it came to JT’s (Thad Luckinbill) murder and coverup. Sharon is now set to spend three years in prison, while Victoria and Nikki each received 10 and 30-year sentences. However, despite the blow to her grandmother and her aunt, Summer (Hunter King) still intends to go through with her planned wedding to Kyle (Michael Mealor).

While the trial was going on, Summer learned she was a match for Lola (Sasha Calle), who needs a liver transplant, and in order to get her to agree to the surgery, Kyle promised to marry her, and the two have agreed that no one will know the real reason why they’re becoming husband and wife, though it would need to happen right away so Summer would go through with the procedure. Their news shocked everyone, but they haven’t faced any major objections thus far—though Summer is about to reveal her plans to her grandfather, Victor (Eric Braden), and he may have something to say.

“Victor learns Summer’s plans,” spoilers reveal.

Victor will be shocked that Summer is planning to marry Kyle, who is an Abbott, but he may not stand in his granddaughter’s way, though like everyone else, he will question the sudden need for a wedding when Kyle was committed to Lola not too long ago and the family is dealing with the devastating blow of Victoria and Nikki’s impending prison sentences.

Still, it appears with Victor approving of her marriage plans, nothing will stand in her way. However, a preview clip for the week’s episodes (see above) show Lola waking up from her coma with Kyle by her side—meaning things may not go off as well as she hopes in the long run.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
