It has been a dominant stretch for Real Madrid as they hoisted their 34th La Liga title after defeating Villarreal 2-1. This marks Zinedine Zidane’s 11th trophy with Los Blancos and adds to his long list of accolades. After the match, Zidane opened up how this win was more precious than even their Champions League accomplishments.

Per Goal.com, Zidane shared that this was one of his sweetest victories as a manager. There’s no question that Real Madrid has reached attained success under Zidane in the past few seasons. The tactical specialist has helped Los Blancos raise multiple championships that include three-straight Champions League titles from 2015 to 2018. Despite the feat, Zidane said that the newly won La Liga trophy is one of his best ones.

"Today is one of the best days for me as a professional and after everything that happened, the three-month break, it's fantastic what's been achieved,” Zidane shared.

The season had multiple challenges for everyone given how the world is enduring a pandemic. Despite all of these challenges, Real Madrid was able to bounce back after the suspension and deliver a dominant performance – winning all the games that led to securing the title.

"It's strange for everyone, we can't control the situation, we would have loved to be with the supporters, hopefully, that can happen further down the line but for a question of health that can't happen,” Zidane said.

"But I'm sure the supporters are happy celebrating at home. I say hello to all those supporters watching at home," Zidane added.

The faith Zidane has for his players ultimately led to the club’s victory. While their Champions League success has been impressive, the way the team endured injuries and the ever-evolving global situation makes this win sweeter. The club adjusted well to any challenge hurled in front of them as it shows how much trust Zidane has for his players. Trusty veterans such as Karim Benzema stepped up when needed and provided the much-needed spark for the team.

"Look, the Champions League is the Champions League but the Spanish league requires such an amount of effort. 38 weeks and effort and at the end of those 38 weeks you have more points than everyone else. It's fantastic," Zidane concluded.

It's a monumental time for the club as the newly crowned champion is focused on finishing off the season with a win in their final game against Leganes.
