Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is handling Manchester United’s interest in Sergio Reguilon with care as he hopes to leverage a deal for his longtime target, Paul Pogba, a report from Spain said.

Talks have been circulating of Reguilon being all set for a move to Old Trafford. The left-back is coming off an impressive loan season with Sevilla and is now a target across Europe’s top five leagues. Madrid boss Zidane is well aware of it and has already plotted a plan.

Zidane is overseeing the Madrid-United negotiations for Reguillon’s transfer with “patience” as he is aiming for a shock move in the future, Spanish outlet El Desmarque reported. The renowned manager sees the Reguilon deal as a way to bring in United superstar Pogba.

According to the report, Zidane is eager to have Pogba on his squad and hopes that the Red Devils would welcome talks for Pogba's move to Los Blancos.

Pogba is linked to transfer rumors almost every window, and this year is no different. However, Zidane's plans may not come to fruition as Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, confirmed that discussions for a new deal with United will soon commence.

Despite United’s plans to land big signings ahead of the next Premier League season, Raiola said that the English club will not be entertaining offers for Pogba, who is still part of the club’s “important project.”

“Pogba is key player for Man Utd, they have an important project and he’s 100% included,” the agent told Sky Sports Italia. “Man Utd will not accept any bid on this summer to sell Pogba.”

Like Pogba, Reguilon also emerged as a top target in the current window. His notable loan spell at Sevilla added flair to his young career.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano earlier said that Madrid has offered Reguilon to United, but there is still no concrete offer coming from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Meanwhile, Madrid has started its training camp for the upcoming La Liga season. Sources told AS that Real Madrid Castilla midfielder Antonio Blanco is one of the players who have impressed Zidane with his progress in the Spanish side’s reserve team.
