Griselda Blanco was one of the world's most famous female drug lords -- but that title comes with a price. The "Cocaine Godmother" met her demise in Medellin, Colombia, Monday when she was gunned down by two motorcyclists, the Miami Herald reported.

The "Cocaine Godmother" was assassinated when she was leaving a butcher store.

Upon hearing the news of the Miami's drug lord's death the day after Labor Day, many took to Twitter to react. While some were upset at her passing, others felt that Blanco had it coming.

Check out some of the popular tweets from the micro-blog:

"Can't believe two hotshots killed Griselda Blanco. She was one of my heroes..." @RobertOttone tweeted.

"Godmother of Cocaine" Griselda Blanco was assassinated yesterday. Another glass ceiling shatters, ladies!" @TheFearBoners shared.

"Only the Real know who Griselda Blanco is," @PrettyMichelleA wrote.

"FYI Griselda Blanco would of murdered your entire family,no regrets.... Use your RIP's wisely," @LBOOGSHH posted.

"Shout out to griselda Blanco aka la madrina for all that cocaine she brought into our country u a dead hoe now and u deserve it," @hellamaria tweeted.

Blanco was 69 years old at the time of her death. Newsone wrote that she was imprisoned for two decades for drug trafficking and murder, which included slaying a 2-year-old boy in Miami.

"It's surprising to all of us that she had not been killed sooner because she made a lot of enemies," former Miami homicide detective Nelson Andreu, who investigated her, said late Monday. "When you kill so many and hurt so many people like she did, it's only a matter of time before they find you and try to even the score."

She was deported to Colombia in 2004, reports said.

"Cocaine Cowboys" co-director Billy Corden had this to say about Blanco's murder:

"This is classic live-by-the-sword, die-by-the-sword," Corben said Monday. "Or in this case, live-by-the-motorcycle-assassin, die-by-the-motorcycle assassin."
