Williamsburg and Portland might just be too mainstream for hipsters. RealtyTrac put together a list of the 25 most “hipster” neighborhoods in the United States, and neither Williamsburg nor Portland made it.

What makes a neighborhood hipster? According to RealtyTrac, hipster neighborhoods are ones that are densely populated and have a disproportionately high number of people of “prime hipster age” -- 25 to 34 -- who walk to work or use public transport.

With six hipster neighborhoods in close proximity, the largest cluster of hipster neighborhoods was in the New York/New Jersey metro area, featuring ZIP codes in Astoria, Woodside, Sunnyside, Hoboken, Brooklyn and East Rutherford.
