(Update: 2:38 p.m.): Mass. State Police will return to Hernandez's house with a fresh search warrant after uncovering evidence that "he destroyed his home security system," a source involved in the Odin Lloyd murder investigation told ABC News. The source also confirmed that Hernandez had intentionally smashed his cell phone, and hired a team of house cleaners Monday to scrub his mansion.

(Update: 12:59 p.m.): A source with knowledge of the homicide investigation told Sports Illustrated that Hernandez's involvement with the Lloyd murder is "significant enough" that his arrest is likely. However, the potential charges against Hernandez are not yet known.

(Update: 12:33 p.m.): A source has told Fox 25 Boston that the murder of Lloyd was likely "drug-related," specifically referencing marijuana. Hernandez failed multiple drug tests while attending the University of Florida, and has openly admitted to using marijuana. Fox 25 Boston is also reporting that Hernandez was confronted by reporters outside of a local gas station, declined to answer any questions regarding the news of his potential arrest or the ongoing homicide investigation.

(Update: 12:19 p.m.): Fox 25 Boston has a helicopter following Hernandez's white SUV. So far, he has driven to Gillette Stadium, where he lingered for a while before getting back on the road. You can watch the live stream here.

A law enforcement source in the investigation into the killing of Odin Lloyd says New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez will be arrested in connection with the North Attleboro, Mass., homicide.

While details are scant, a law enforcement official has reportedly told Steve Silva of Boston.com that police will seek to arrest Hernandez for his suspected role in the murder of Odin Lloyd, a semi-pro football player who dated Hernandez’s girlfriend’s sister. Silva added that the sources predicting a Hernandez arrest were "not directly connected" with the investigation.

Authorities were initially skeptical of Hernandez’s involvement in the murder. At the start of their investigation, police stressed that, while Hernandez would be questioned about the homicide, he was not considered to be a suspect.

That all changed on Wednesday, when CBS Boston reported that Hernandez had not been ruled out as a suspect. A rental car that had been reserved in his name was found near North Attleboro Industrial Park, near the spot where Lloyd’s body was found. Hernandez’s home is also located less than a mile away from the scene.

On Thursday morning, a source close to the Odin Lloyd murder investigation revealed that authorities now believed that Hernandez was “directly tied” to the homicide, Fox 25 Boston reported. According to the report, Hernandez, Lloyd and two other men were seen together at a Boston bar mere hours before the crime.

All four men were later spotted leaving the bar in a car driven by Hernandez, but when the group returned to the Patriots tight end’s house, Lloyd was gone. The source added that text messages sent by Lloyd to another man contained references to Hernandez, and confirmed that he had left the bar with the others. The information was likely crucial in the decision to arrest Hernandez.

Massachusetts State Police executed a search warrant Tuesday at the Hernandez residence. Authorities were seen leaving the Patriots star’s home with a box in their possession, though they have yet to reveal its contents. Authorities returned to the house on Wednesday morning, but their knocks at Hernandez’s front door went unanswered.
