Amanda Bynes was not drunk when she was arrested on Friday, her father says.

She was not drunk, Amanda Bynes' father, Rick Bynes, told People magazine. I was told that she blew a zero on the Breathalyzer. She didn't have a single drink that night. My daughter doesn't drink.

The 26-year-old was arrested and hit with a citation for investigation of DUI, and will have to appear in court at some point to face up to the allegation that she was under the influence when police pulled her over last week in West Hollywood, Calif.

Rick Bynes told People that his daughter was definitely not under the influence of any substance, and that she was collared simply because she was upset and very emotional. He also added that she is a good girl. She just chooses not to work, and because of that, people go after her.

Amanda Bynes was at the Greystone Manor Supperclub on Thursday night, before her arrest, and was kept overnight at the West Hollywood Sheriff's stationhouse.

Bynes was all over the gossip news after the arrest, as she allegedly collided with a police car while behind the wheel, adding weight to the allegations that she may have imbibed prior to her arrest.

Amanda Bynes grew up in the public eye while a star on the Nickelodeon network, and she also starred in the TV series What I Like About You and films including She's the Man and What a Girl Wants.
