AHS: Hotel Gabriel
"American Horror Story: Hotel" fans have not seen the last of Gabriel (Max Greenfield). The actor took to Twitter to share a photo of his Season 5 character. FX

Think you’ve seen the last of Max Greenfield’s “American Horror Story: Hotel” character? Think again! The “New Girl” actor, who is guest starring on the FX anthology series as drug user Gabriel, shared a disturbing behind-the-scenes photo from the set.

Viewers will remember that Gabriel made his debut during the premiere of Season 5. He entered Hotel Cortez with minimal money and desperate for a place to get high. Hotel manager Iris (Kathy Bates) gave him the key to room 64 -- which fans later learned was the original hotel owner’s office. Poor Gabriel got more than he bargained for in that room when he was visited by the addiction demon, a creature with no face and a spike that he uses to rape his victims. The addiction demon only stopped when Hypodermic Sally (Sarah Paulson) arrived and told Gabriel to say the magic words: “I love you, Sally.”

Unfortunately for Gabriel, saying those four words didn’t result in a happy ending. Episode 2 kicked off with Sally sewing Gabriel into a mattress.

“You lied,” he told her as she stitched up the mattress. “I’m not free.”

However, that was no concern for the permanent Hotel Cortez tenant. She told him that it was his own fault thinking he could cheat death. So, will “American Horror Story” viewers see more of Gabriel this season?

Greenfield’s tweet makes it seem as if viewers might get to check-in with Gabriel during episode 3 tonight. But is he in the room 64 mattress? Or will another unfortunate hotel guest stumble across his body? Only time will tell!

As we previously reported, episode 3, titled “Mommy,” will focus on a recently heartbroken Donovan (Matt Bomer). Countess Elizabeth (Lady Gaga) broke up with him in episode 2 after infecting male model Tristan (Finn Wittrock) with the ancient blood virus. He’ll leave the hotel, but he won’t make it far. Donovan will meet another one of Countess Elizabeth’s exes -- and they have a lot in common.

Meanwhile, the episode will also find Alex (Chl oë Sevigny) struggling after her son Holden is brought up again. Her daughter Scarlett’s reveal that Holden is alive will push Alex to her “breaking point.”

Season 5, episode 3 of “American Horror Story” airs on FX Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 10 p.m. ET.
