T-Mobile has reportedly started testing the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Sony Xperia Z3 and Sony Xperia Z1s. Android 5.0 Lollipop Update For Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z1s

T-Mobile's Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Sony Xperia Z3 will reportedly be rolled out before the end of May and will come with LTE Band 12 (700 MHz) support. Regarding the Sony Xperia Z1s, it's not clear if the Android Lollipop update will be included on this handset, but it looks like a possibility, according to Phone Arena.

T-Mobile’s official website has listed both Sony Xperia Z3 (model No. D6616) and Xperia Z1s (model number C6916) as “T-Mobile Testing Software Version: Android 5.0 Lollipop.” Notably, in March, the handsets were reportedly showing a status of “Manufacturer Development,” writes Xperia Blog.

On the other hand, T-Mobile had stopped selling the Sony Xperia Z3 temporarily in April, indicating the arrival of the 2015 flagship. However, now, the Xperia Z3 is back and T-Mobile is offering it at a discounted price of $499.92. It's also available for $20.83 per month with a two-year contract. The Xperia Z1s can also be purchased as a certified pre-owned handset for $229.92, or $9.58 a month with a two-year contract.

Android 5.0.2 Lollipop Update For Sony Xperia Z Series

According to Xperia Blog, the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for the Sony Xperia Z series of devices will be rolled out shortly for those who have not received it yet. Upon installation, the Xperia Z handset should show the new Lollipop software build number as 10.6.A.0.454. The increment of firmware number from 10.5 to 10.6 reportedly denotes the move from Android KitKat OS to Android Lollipop OS. Furthermore, this update has apparently been certified for all the erstwhile Sony Xperia Z series of devices. This list reportedly includes Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z.
