The buzz around Apple’s 2017 iPad lineup is getting louder. As we wait for the iPad launch to happen, rumors concerning the company's tablet offering keep emerging — the newest one claiming that the devices could be launched in April, and not in May, as rumored earlier.

Additionally, the rumor from Apple World says the launch could be held at the company’s spaceship campus in Apple Park. The website first reported Tuesday that clicking on the ‘Check Availability’ option for the upcoming 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2 on Apple’s website shows April 4. The report added that Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed earlier that the company’s MacBook Pro 2016 event, held at Apple’s old headquarters Infinite Loop 1, would be the last Apple event to be held there.

Furthermore, Apple Park is scheduled to open in April, which means Apple could inaugurate the campus by holding the iPad launch there, at the 1,000-seat Steve Jobs Theater on-site. What appears to be interesting is that many carriers are offering $150 discounts on various existing iPad models. The important information here is that the deals mostly end on April 1 (one of them ends April 3). It could mean retailers are clearing stock to make way for the new iPad lineup.

So we might get to know soon what Apple has up its sleeves.

The company is expected to launch 4 new tablets in 2017, including:

  • A 7.9-inch iPad Mini
  • A 9.7-inch tablet replacing the iPad Air 2
  • A 10.5-inch iPad Pro 2

There is also the 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2, perhaps the most important new product from the lineup, which could be the most highly anticipated tablet of 2017 due to its desirability by both professionals and regular consumers alike.

The iPad Pro 2 is expected to be the company’s flagship tablet for 2017, and will likely have features like a Touch Bar similar to one on the 2016 MacBook Pro, a new Apple Pencil, an A10X chipset, a 12-megapixel rear camera and iOS 10.3.
