Apple plans to announce its new laptop lineup at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) next month, sources familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.

Apple reportedly will announce its latest MacBook and MacBook Pro, and is also considering updating the MacBook Air, which hasn’t been upgraded in years.

The MacBook Pro reportedly will come with a faster Kaby Lake processor from Intel. Apple is also working on a new 12-inch MacBook with a faster Intel chip, the report said. As for the MacBook Air, the company will update the 13-inch laptop with a new processor.

The new MacBook Pro will look much like the previous model and will mostly differ in internal architecture. Apple has been working on a new in-house chip for a future MacBook Pro that manages the laptops low-power mode, but it’s unclear whether it will be included in the June’s lineup.

The current MacBook Pro was released last fall and featured the Touch Bar. However, the laptop faced hurdles with its battery. Consumer Reports declined in December to recommend the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar because of “highly inconsistent” poor battery life tests. In Febraury, users reported experiencing problems with the MacBook Pro’s keyboard, and other users said they were hearing a “popping” noise coming from their units.

The new lineup could win back disappointed MacBook fans. Apple’s new laptops could also help against competition from Microsoft, which recently introduced the Surface Laptop.

The new MacBook lineup also could help Apple with its declining iPad sales. A recent report said Apple could phase out the iPad Mini. Apple already discontinued the iPad Mini 4 32GB model earlier this year and previously dropped the iPad Air. Apple is expected to introduce the iPad Pro 2 at the upcoming WWDC, which will take place next month in San Jose, California.

What Else Will Be Announced In WWDC?

Along with the MacBook lineup, Apple is also expected to announce an update to macOS at WWDC, as well as tvOS and watchOS. The company could give the work a preview of iOS 11 for iPads and iPhones. The update is supposed to boost Siri capabilities and introduce Theater Mode for devices. iOS 11 is also rumored to revamp the Music App to push Apple’s original video content.

The company is also expected to announce another device: a Siri speaker. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently said there is an "over 50 percent chance” the speaker will be revealed at WWDC. The Siri speaker will compete with Amazon’s multiple Alexa-powered devices and Google Home. Amazon already debuted two Echo devices this spring, the Echo Look, which acts like a style assistant, and the Echo Show, which comes with a built-in display.

Apple is also expected to announce developments in Apple Pay.
