Most indications suggest that Arsenal will be making several changes this summer.

Arsene Wenger has already added forward Lukas Podolski to the squad, and the Gunners boss apparently has plans to bolster the midfield.

Multiple sources, most recently the Telegraph, have linked Clint Dempsey to a summer move to Emirates. The 29-year-old is having an exceptional season with Fulham, and has reportedly expressed strong interest in playing in Champions League.

Dempsey's time with Fulham appears to be up. The American has also been linked to Manchester United, Tottenham, Roma, and Sevilla.

Arsenal perhaps have an edge over other clubs, as Dempsey had been linked to the Gunners last summer and during the winter, and he wouldn't have to leave London. Arsenal are currently in third place in the Premier League, and have been in quality form in recent months.

Another player linked to Emirates is Stephan El Shaarawy, according to Metro. The 19-year-old striker has received solid playing time with AC Milan in recent weeks, and is considered among the most promising young Italian players in Serie A.

How aggressive the Gunners pursue El Shaarawy will be interesting considering the development of Joel Campbell. The young Costa Rican striker is on loan with Lorient, and Wenger is reportedly pleased with his progress, though he has failed to score much for the French club.

Arsenal also continue to be in the mix for Jack Butland. The 19-year-old is rated as among the best young English goalkeepers. Daily Mirror has reported extensively on both Arsenal and Manchester United's interest in Butland over the past month, and value the Birmingham prospect at £3 million.

While new faces might be on their way into Emirates, some familiar names seem they won't return. The Sun reported that on-loan forward Carlos Vela wants to continue his stay with Real Sociedad. The 23-year-old Mexican has also spent time on loan at Salamanca, Osasuna, and West Bromwich.

Vela, who can be effective on the wing, is having a solid season at Real Sociedad.
