With four days remaining until the transfer deadline, Arsenal have stepped up efforts to bolster their attack.

After failing to land star Lille midfielder Eden Hazard, Arsene Wenger has gone after the French club's top target.

The Guardian reports that Arsenal are on the verge of signing Monaco striker Chu-Young Park for £10 million. The 26-year-old South Korean was also the target of Lille, and left the club before his second medical examination for London.

Park had 25 goals in 91 appearances for Monaco, and 17 goals in 51 appearances for South Korea.

Daily Mail reports that Dutch winger Eljero Elia of Hamburg is also an Arsenal target. Such a deal would be interesting considering Nicklas Bendtner was linked to Hamburg.

According to The Sun, Arsenal are set to abandon their pursuit of Bolton centre back Gary Cahill, after the Gunners gave what was perceived as an insulting bid for the 25-year-old, leading to tension between the two clubs.

Arsenal now appear to be in the hunt for Chelsea's 29-year-old centre back Alex. The Blues value the Brazilian at more than £10 million.

Metro reports that Arsenal are working hard to add Parma midfielder Danilo Pereira. The 19-year-old Portuguese rising star is also a target of Liverpool.
