Facebook has come into our consciousness as an everyday tool for communicating with people from all walks of one's life, past or present.

However, for one Israeli couple just appreciating that influence wasn't good enough. When Lior Adler posted a photo of his newborn baby, it got 40 likes. Overwhelmed by the response, Adler and his wife Vardit decided to name the baby Like.

In our opinion it's the modern equivalent of the name Ahava [Love], he said to the Israeli newspaper Maariv. It's just my way of saying to my fantastic daughter, 'Love'.

Adler wanted to be original and said he checked and no one else in Israel had the name Like. He and his wife have used originality for their first two children as well. One of their kids is named Pie, after American Apple Pie and the other is Dvash, Hebrew for Honey.

Earlier this year, a baby in Egypt was named Facebook, after the social network launched a revolution the eventually overthrew Husani Mubarak.
