HTC Sensation 4G, which has better features than other smartphones in the market, has received desired attention before and after its launch as it offers some superlative specifications.

HTC’s new smartphone is available from T-Mobile for $200 with a two-year contract after rebates. It is a relatively rare smartphone which features Android’s latest operating system.

HTC Sensation 4G has lived up to its name and has continued to receive rave reviews for its incredible performance in terms of nice screen, beautiful design, good camera and HTC Sense. Previously HTC Sensation was considered to be the lone contender against Samsung Galaxy S2. But now Motorola has devised its own 4G smartphone, Photon 4G, which can overthrow any smartphone in the market today.

Here is a comparison of both these smartphones.

Size:
HTC Sensation 4G has a dimension of 126.1 x 65.4 x 11.3 mm and weighs at 148 g. Motorola Photon 4G has a dimension of 126.9 x 66.9 x 12.2 mm and weighs at 158 g.

Display:
The HTC Sensation 4G features 4.3-inch display with a 540 x 960 pixels S-LCD capacitive touchscreen compared to Motorola Photon’s similar megapixel display TFT capacitive touchscreen.

Input features:
The input features found in HTC Sensation are Gorilla glass display multi-touch, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, a proximity sensor for auto turn-off, gyro sensor and HTC Sense v3.0 UI. Motorola’s phone features multi-touch input method, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, proximity sensor for auto turn-off and touch-sensitive controls.

Memory:
The smartphone from Motorola has 1 GB RAM, 2 GB ROM and 16 GB storage along with microSD support up to 32 GB whereas HTC’s smartphone has 768 MB RAM and 1 GB internal storage capacity with a support of microSD up to 32 GB and 8 GB is included.

3G:
As Motorola’s smartphone is heading to Sprint, the phone will have support of Rev. A up to 3.1 Mbps and possibly LTE support as well. HTC’s phone will have T-Mobile’s HSDPA 14.4 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps support.

WLAN/Bluetooth/USB:
HTC Sensation has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot support along with Bluetooth version 3.0 with A2DP and microUSB version 2.0 compared to Photon 4G’s Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot; WiMAX 802.16 e along with Bluetooth version 2.1 with A2DP, EDR and microUSB version 2.0.

Camera:
Both these smartphones have 8-megapixel 3264x2448 pixels camera along with autofocus, dual-LED Flash, geo-tagging, face detection and image stabilization feature. And HTC Sensation has extra features like touch-focus, instant capture and it can record videos at 1080p at 30fps and stereo sound recording whereas Motorola phone 720p at 30fps. There is secondary VGA camera in both phones.

Operating System:
The Android OS version 2.3 Gingerbread will be available in both the smartphones.

Processor:
When it comes to processor HTC’s phone has 1.2 GHz dual-core Adreno 220 GPU Qualcomm MSM 8260 Snapdragon processor whereas Motorola Photon 4G has 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 AP20H dual core processor.

Battery:
There is a Li-Ion 1520 mAh battery found in Sensation 4G which can give up to 8 h 20 min of talk time compared to Motorola’s Li-Po 1700 mAh battery which gives up to 9 hours of talk time.

Other features:
The common features found in both these smartphones include SMS threaded view, MMS, Email, IM, Push Email, HTML browser, A-GPS support, Java MIDP emulator, SNS integration, digital compass, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, organizer, document viewer, voice memo-dial-commands and predictive text input.

Extra features found in Photon 4G are HDMI port, active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, MP3/WAV/WMA/AAC+ player, MP4/WMV/H.263/H.264 player, built-in kickstand, photo viewer and editor. And the Sensation 4G phone has features like TV-out (via MHL A/V link), Picasa integration, MP3/AAC+/WAV/WMA player, XviD/MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV player and predictive text input (T9 Trace).

Moreover, Photon 4G for Sprint is a world phone which means the consumers have international GSM roaming so that they can access their email, calendar and contacts from anywhere. As the phone includes enterprise-tailored security, it will also attract corporate users. It also has Webtop application which was featured in Motorola Atrix 4G. The phone will have Motorola Firefox browser. As Motorola Atrix was available for $499 with Laptop dock and $199.99 without, most probably Sprint may also device similar plans for Photon 4G.
