The French Hacker pod2g released an exciting news for those who are still envious of A4 iDevice owners as the latter have got their untethered jailbreak.

Pod2g revealed his progress on A5 on Tuesday, and said the untethered jailbreak for the A5 powered iPad2 and iPhone 4S will come 'in a week'.

I made a step today for the A5. With some luck we could expect a release in a week, pod2g tweeted.

He also said via his Twitter account, Yes, upgrade your 4S and iPad 2 to 5.0.1.

His fans are very excited about this. One said, You're better than Superman and Batman! Keep up the good work!

Obviously, the French hacker already has the confidence to release the untethered jailbreak this time, even though we still do not know the details of his work. To focus on the work of releasing the untethered jailbreak, pod2g gave all the details of his A4 work to Chronic Dev Team, which led iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team to release the A4 devices' untethered jailbreak for iPhone3GS, iPhone4, iPhone4-CDMA, iPad, iPod Touch 3G and iPod touch 4G at the end of 2011.

Meanwhile, pod2g's rival MuscleNerd said, As always, best hope for unlock is on earlier basebands, so I'm staying at 5.0 on 4S even though untether backport may take longer.

MuscleNerd previously released redsn0w 0.9.10b. And, after some issues appeared, he released redsn0w 0.9.10b2 and redsn0w 0.9.10b3 to fix some key issues. However, issues are still on the rise. Once the A5 jailbreak is released, hackers may have enough energy to overcome all kinds of problems.

Last year, pod2g and MuscleNerd shared the crown of the jailbreaker of the year. But, in 2012, it seems that pod2g will beat MuscleNerd and become the jailbreaker of the year.
