Meet baby Blue Ivy Carter. The first photos of Beyonce and Jay-Z's first daughter have been released.

Blue Ivy Carter's name began trending on Twitter around 6:30 p.m. Friday night. Numerous Twitter users linked to the photos, which were posted by Beyonce and Jay-Z themselves on the Tumblr page "Hello Blue Ivy Carter." The release of the photos were also reported on Jay-Z's Web site lifeandtimes.com/glory.

The superstar couple posted five beautiful photos of their baby. Two photos are of just Blue Ivy Carter, who has beautiful dark locks and bright eyes. One photo shows baby Blue Ivy cradled in Beyonce's arms. Another photo shows Jay-Z holding the baby on his shoulder. Finally, another photo is a close-up shot of Beyonce's hand holding Blue Ivy Carter's tiny one.

They also wrote a note to fans. The note reads: "We welcome you to share in our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives."

The superstar couple decided to reveal the photos themselves, not on the cover of a magazine as had been speculated. The beautiful action was surely appreciated by fans who have been waiting with bated breath to see the darling child.

They could have fetched up to six figures for the first shots of their baby girl. Instead, Beyonce and Jay-Z chose to make a more subtle move. The low-key release is in cohesion with music royal couple's overall persona. Up until a few years ago, the couple has been extremely private about their personal life.
