Jenna Talackova, a transsexual contestant, was booted from the 2012 Miss Canada Universe competition.

Miss Universe Canada confirmed on Friday, that the 23 year old from Vancouver, British Columbia, was disqualified after it was discovered that she was born a boy.

She did not meet the requirements to compete despite having stated otherwise on her entry form, the organizers noted in a press release. We do, however, respect her goals, determination and wish her the best.

Talackova successfully reached the pageant's finals before she was kicked out. The organizers also pulled her photos from the website.

Denis Davila, the national director of Miss Universe Canada, told India Today that Talackova noted on her registration form that she was born a female. The former contestant allegedly didn't admit to being born a male until after she was confronted by Davila about her sex change, India Today reported.

She feels like a real girl and she is a real girl, Davila said. She didn't expect people to question it. She was hoping we could put her back in the competition, but the rules are very clear and there's no way we can go back on it.

The Montreal Gazette reported that Talackova, a tall, beautiful blonde, underwent sexual reassignment surgery in 2010. The former contestant has told the media that she will need to speak with her lawyer before she gives interviews.

The Gazette has reported that Talackova has tweeted that she was disqualified for being born.

Since news of her disqualification, a petition was created on the website Change.org in an effort to get organizers and Donald Trump himself to Reverse the Unfair Disqualification of Jenna Talackova!

The petition stated that Talackova's disqualification is discriminatory, unjust, and quite frankly disgusting. It also noted that she is a woman and deserves to be treated as any other woman would be.

They are seeking 25,000 signatures and has received more the 20,000 as of 1 a.m. Monday.

The 61st annual Miss Universe Canada Pageant will take place at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts (Bluma Appel Theatre) in Toronto. There are 65 finalists from across Canada will be in Toronto from May 11 to 20 to try and win the coveted title of Miss Universe Canada 2012. The title will be awarded on May 19, and the reigning Miss Universe Canada, Chelsae Durocher, will help crown the winner, the pageants website stated.
