Demi follows Ashton

Multiple media outlets are reporting that either Ashton Kutcher is no longer following Demi Moore on Twitter, or that Demi is no longer following Ashton.

But as @aplusk would say, don't believe the hype: Ashton and Demi are still following each other on Twitter.

The following screeenshots were taken at 12:45 p.m. EDT on Friday, Sept. 30:

And here's a list of who @mrskutcher is following:

There you have it: Neither has stopped following the other on Twitter. Does this mean that all is well in their relationship? Perhaps not.

The famously oversharing couple's uncharacteristic silence about the rumor that Ashton cheated and the couple is separating have only fanned the flames of said rumor. While many other celebritites ignore speculation about their personal life, Demi and Ashton have long courted the spotlight; and until now, could be relied upon to speak their minds on any issue -- no matter how personal.

Ashton and Demi were among the first celebrities to embrace Twitter and harness the control over their public images that social media offers. Since then, dozens of other celebrities have followed suit; and these days, news often breaks on Twitter before the media gets hold of it. (That said, TMZ still often manages to out-scoop just about everyone; although not in the case of Ashton's alleged affair).

Speculation that the A-list couple was on the rocks heated up this weekend, when an anonymous person emailed TheDirty.com to report that Kutcher had slept with an acquaintance of hers, a 23-year old woman by the name of Sara Leal.

The affair allegedly took place in San Diego in the early hours of Saturday morning, which coincided with Demi and Ashton's sixth wedding anniversary.

Star magazine and its sister publication RadarOnline have run with the story -- a report on the breakup is the cover story of Wednesday's issue of Star, but the full story is not available online. One source reportedly told Star that Ashton and Demi have separated and the marriage is over.

Fox News reported that extra security had been called to the Moore/Kutcher residence Wednesday while the couple (and presumably their handlers) dealt with 'the issue... behind closed doors.

But the last time there was an issue -- namely, Kutcher's alleged affair with Brittney Jones -- Moore and Kutcher publicly joined forces against their common enemy (Star magazine) and tweeted threats to sue for defamation.

Not so this time. Does this mean the rumors are true?

It seems like @aplusk wants us to take them with a grain of salt.

When you ASSUME to know that which you know nothing of you make an ASS out of U and ME, Kutcher tweeted on Thursday afternoon. Previously, he tweeted the song Don't Believe the Hype via Spotify, leading to speculation he was warning his followers of misleading media reports.

For now, that's all we have to go one. But the camera-friendly couple can't hide out forever, on the Internet or in the real world. We are just going to have to wait until one or both decides to speak up -- or until Kutcher's alleged mistress finds someone willing to pay $250,000 for her story.

Stay tuned!
