The biggest shopping event of the year is just on the horizon and there are plenty of good deals for the gaming crowd.

Players can score some of the year's best games on the cheap. Walmart is offering the best deals with Batman: Arkham City, Battlefield 3, Gears of War 3, inFAMOUS 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops for $28 each. Unfortunately, no one is selling the hottest game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, at a discount. GameStop offers plenty of games at reduced prices, but some of the best deals are Grand Theft Auto IV and Battlefield: Bad Company 2, each for $10, or Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition for $20.

There are plenty of gaming bundles for players to choose from. The PlayStation 3 bundle that includes Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One and LittleBigPlanet 2 is being sold for around $200 by many retailers including Best Buy, Walmart and Gamestop.

The Xbox 360 bundles are a bit more varied. Best Buy is offering a 250GB Xbox 360 with Fable III, a Halo: Reach download code and a three-month subscription to Xbox Live for $200. Toys-R-Us is offering a 4GB Xbox 360 with the Kinect peripheral for $200, or a $100 Kinect sans game system with two Kinect games, The Gunstringer and Fruit Ninja. Walmart is offering the same Kinect Bundle for the same price plus Kinect Adventures! and download codes for the other two games. The retailer is also selling a 4GB Xbox 360 plus Gears of War 3 and three months of Xbox Live for $200 with a $50 gift card. Or if you want a basic 4GB Xbox 360, it costs $140 at Target, which seems to be the best deal for the baseline product. All bundles and consoles include a controller.

There are also a few good options for gamers who want to get their hands on a Nintendo 3DS bundle. Best Buy is offering a Flame Red 3DS with Super Mario 3D Land or Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D with a cosmic black 3DS, each for $180. The Super Mario bundle can also be purchased at Target for the same price. GameStop is also offering the 3DS bundles for $200, but if you trade in an old DS you can get the price down to as low as $100, depending on the DS you trade in. The GameStop Zelda bundle also comes with a special Zelda edition 3DS.
