A bomb scare at New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport came and went on Monday after a suspicious package that triggered a radiation alert turned out to be a computer monitor.

The monitor checked at the airport's Terminal A had been closed part of Monday morning while a bomb squad examined evidence, according to published reports.

Small amounts of radiation which are normally emitted from monitors triggered the alert during in an inspection machine, an American Airlines spokesman said.
