Simon Pegg Plans to Live Long and Prosper
Sequel on the way for "Star Trek" Reuters

Star Trek screenwriter Roberto Orci announced on Twitter that he is aiming to turn in his first full draft of Star Trek in six weeks or so.

This is good news for Paramount. The first Star Trek, directed by J.J. Abrams, reached $385 million at the box office. It was released in May 2009.

British comedian Simon Pegg, who plays Scotty, said he plans to be on set for the sequel in August.

The film has tentatively been planned for release in Summer 2012.
