French first lady, Carla Bruni on Friday confirmed that she is expecting a child with French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Bruni, 43, confirmed the news of her pregnancy in an interview with the Nice Matin newspaper.
Bruni told the French newspaper that she neither knows the sex of their unborn child. There are certain things which one should keep secret, Bruni said.
I made an album, but it is not quite finished because of this future unexpected and unhoped for happiness, Bruni said.
Though the couple has not yet announce a due date, but betting is that the baby will be born around October when the race for the presidential elections starts. This
would be the first child born into the Elysee Palace since the fifth republic started in 1958.
This will be the first child for Bruni but Sarkozy, 56, has three children from his two previous marriages, to Marie-Dominique Culioli and Cecilia Ciganer-Albeniz.
