Mackenzie Ziegler may have failed to bring home a win for Abby Lee Miller in last Tuesday’s episode of “Dance Moms,” but that won’t stop the young performer from talking back to her coach in episode 14. In a sneak peek video of the Lifetime series’ forthcoming episode, titled "Hollywood, Round Two," Mackenzie, 10, explains to Abby exactly why she thinks the ALDC’s Spice Girls-inspired group dance didn’t win.

After arriving to Los Angeles for the second time in Season 5, Abby tells her students in the preview clip -- which is available on the "Dance Moms" official Facebook page -- to prepare for a win. Before announcing the weekly assignments, she reminds them of their failure to score first place with their group dance the previous week, causing Mackenzie, who had the lead role in the jazz-funk number, to speak up.

“We didn’t win at the competition,” Abby says, alluding to the idea that the absence of Mackenzie’s sister, Maddie Ziegler, might have been the reason.

“Our group was just to entertain," Mackenzie interjects. "It wasn’t really a competition dance."

After a tense moment of silence, and a few shocked looks from the mothers, Abby responds by calling her dancer's analysis "spot on" and even giving a smile. “I know it was entertaining,” Abby says. “And I know in the future, that’s what you’re going to do and you need that training.”

Abby previously shared a similar sentiment about the group’s number -- which viewers will remember lost to the Candy Apples in episode 13 -- on Twitter following the installment’s premiere. She also alluded to the idea that the jazz-funk piece was not her idea, but one set forth by the show’s producers.

Despite being understanding of her team’s loss, Abby did impress on them the importance of winning in the sneak peek clip. “You have to understand my position. My reputation is based solely on the success of my students,” she tells her elite junior team and their dance moms. “If they don’t start to win, nobody is going to be a star,” Abby, who is currently prepping to open a dance studio on the West Coast, later tells the cameras.

According to Lifetime’s synopsis for the coming episode, Abby will pit two of her dancers against one another in the solo division in episode 14. Kendall Vertes, 12, and Nia Frazier, 13, will reportedly go head to head. Meanwhile, the group will perform a lyrical number. Find out how the team members placed here.
