Maddie Ziegler will be put to the test in "Dance Moms," Season 5, episode 10. Lifetime

Maddie Ziegler has always been Abby Lee Miller’s favorite student at the Abby Lee Dance Company, but is all that about to change? The synopsis for Season 5, episode 10, of “Dance Moms” teases the idea that the 12-year-old powerhouse and Sia music-video star is about to get replaced.

“Maddie is being pulled in so many directions right now, so her training has suffered,” Abby says in a promo for “The New Maddie?”

Could this the end of the line for Maddie? Thankfully for fans of the performer -- and, let’s be frank, for the sake of her mother Melissa Gisoni -- it doesn’t appear Maddie will be leaving the hit Lifetime series or Abby’s famous elite junior team anytime soon. However, there will be a new dancer nipping at her heels in episode 10.

Lifetime’s synopsis for the episode says that star dancer Brynn Rumfallo and her mother Ashlee will visit the ALDC. During her guest appearance, Brynn and Maddie will go toe-to-toe in competition.

“I need Maddie to focus. She needs to worry about the competition at hand because Brynn is going up against her” Abby says in the promo, later telling Maddie she needs to perform like her “future depends on it.”

Much to the original dance moms’ dismay, Abby will reportedly peg Brynn, 11, as her next go-to dancer. “Abby invites Ashlee [Rumfallo] and her daughter Brynn to come dance at the ALDC and quickly praises her as the next Maddie, which the original moms do not appreciate,” reads the synopsis.

So how will Abby’s golden child fare against the ALDC newcomer? According to one “Dance Moms” spoiler site, she did not disappoint her longtime coach at Sheer Talent in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, Dec. 13. The site reports Maddie’s contemporary solo “Vertigo” finished first in the preteen division, finished first in the solo overalls and received the overall high-school Sheer Inspiration Award.

As for Brynn, she is said to have placed second in the preteen division for her lyrical piece “Diamond in the Rough.”

The other members of Abby's team also secured a solid win. The group number “Dance in the Rain” reportedly finished first in the preteen division and in the group overalls. The ALDC’s nemesis, the Candy Apples, reportedly placed second with their group number “Torn.”

“Dance Moms,” Season 5, episode 10, premieres on Lifetime Tuesday at 9 p.m. EDT.
