Will Maxine (Vanessa Williams) and William’s (Norm Lewis) secret romance be over soon?

In a sneak peek of next week’s Season 1, episode 6 of VH1’s “Daytime Divas,” dating expert Cecille James (Eve) — the newest guest co-host of “The Lunch Hour” — sets up a blind date for Maxine during a live telecast of the talk show. “You are successful, powerful and gorgeous, and I bet you think there’s no one out there for you. But in fact, there is, and I have someone in mind,” Cecille tells Maxine, who hasn’t been seen dating someone in public since the death of her husband.

“And since when this has become a dating show?” Maxine asks, trying to change the topic.

“Look, I normally don’t set people up but this guy is perfect for you,” Cecille explains.

Thinking that it would be a great opportunity for her mentor, Kibby (Chloe Bridges) urges Maxine to go for it. Shortly thereafter, members of the studio audience begin chanting, “Do it! Do it,” leaving Maxine with no choice but to commit to the blind date. “Alright, I’m in,” says the “Lunch Hour” creator.

Cecille then assures Maxine that she’s made the right decision. “Maxine, trust [me]. He is brilliant, handsome and titan of industry,” Cecille says of Maxine’s mystery date.

“Well, I haven’t met a man like that in a long time,” Maxine replies.

While Maxine is seemingly excited to meet the man, William — who is watching the show on his mobile phone — is clearly disappointed by Maxine’s decision to do the blind date. At the end of last night’s Season 1, episode 5, Maxine and William had a little lovers’ quarrel when she found out that he already knew Shawn’s (McKinley Freeman) secret long before she learned about it. Does Maxine agree to go on the blind date to deliberately hurt Williams’ feelings?

Elsewhere in the episode, according to the installment’s synopsis, Kibby’s sober coach Julian (Scott Evans) encourages her to throw a party to celebrate her one year of sobriety.

“Daytime Divas” Season 1, episode 6, titled “We Are Family,” airs on Monday, July 10 at 10 p.m. EDT on VH1. Watch the sneak peek below:
